無色或白色結(jié)晶、顆?；蚍勰?，別名皓礬。無氣味。味澀。在干燥空氣中風(fēng)化，280℃失去全部結(jié)晶水，500℃以上分解。1g溶于0.6ml水、2.5ml甘油，不溶于乙醇。水溶液對石蕊呈酸性，pH約4.5。含1分子結(jié)晶水的較不易結(jié)塊。相對密度1.97。熔點100℃。最小致死量（大鼠，經(jīng)口）2200mg/kg。有刺激性。用于制造立德粉，并用作媒染劑、收斂劑、木材防腐劑等。
